Additions & Alterations - City of Paris

Paris, Tx - Completed 2005

This project was an adaptive reuse of an historical building in which the Architect converted an existing five-bay central fire station space that was recently abandoned after the construction of a new fire station. The existing fire station space was converted to a council chamber space. Necessary ancillary spaces such as Conference Rooms, Toilet Rooms were added.

The main thrust of the project was to make the building totally accessible to wheelchair-bound citizens. Ramps and an elevator were installed in the building without destroying the character of the Classical Revivial building, this structure being included on the National Register of Historic Places.

Construction was performed by Charlie Clark Construction of Clarksville, Texas, under a lump-sum general contract, for a total cost of $743,650.00 ($136.00/sf).
